The Technology and Society (TS) at SUNY Korea is an extension of the same department at Stony Brook University in New York, and we share the same mission, curriculum, and degrees.
Our aims are to give you
A 21st century education that is digital and holistic; ‘big picture’ knowledge.
Specific technical learning (in ICT, AMS, and/or CS); ‘practical knowledge’.
Knowledge in both that will keep up with a changing global economy.
Practicality of your education geared to actual positions (Internships, Jobs).
Critical working and thinking abilities (CTO, CDO, CIO) in a “4.0” economy.
Skills to be creative decision-makers, whether in business, policy, or technical fields.
Knowledge of current problems to develop social consciousness; this means developing a globalized citizen engagement and working on social-technical problems for social good while being aware of the present or future ethical issues that come from different policy and technical recommendations and developments.
In general, our mission is to train you to make creative and innovative solutions for future society.
All of the above requires global, interdisciplinary, and trans-disciplinary knowledge. The knowledge is gained by
our degrees and the New York experience
the cultural diversity and international basis of students at SUNY Korea as a whole, which is very different from other universities in Korea. We currently have over 30 nationalities attending our campus as of 2020.
A unique future professional network and degree from Stony Brook University. SBU has a significant American reputation and an established name recognition. TS itself is unique because it is the only such Technology and Society in Korea and one of the few in the world.
International scholarship support.
Link to unique communities and work opportunities in South Korea’s only major ‘green smart city’ of Songdo, where our campus is located.
